2.South Asia Conference on Climate Journalism [Oct 17-19, Colombo]

As a journalist, blogger, activist, writer or researcher interested in climate change, do you feel that you would benefit from intensive training in the art of writing, researching and publishing environmental stories?
Climate Tracker, a global network of youth environmental journalists will be hosting a two day residential workshop to support emerging writers from South Asia.
The Workshop will bring together youth from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Nepal to undergo interactive seminars, networking and practical exercises to hone their journalistic skills and support their climate efforts.
The Workshop will provide an exciting opportunity for all participants to attend the 5 th Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Forum which is the flagship event of the Asia Pacific Adaptation Network (APAN), from 17th -19th October, 2016 in Colombo.
This will ensure that the skills learned are immediately and effectively put to use while covering the Forum.
The combination of training and practicum experience is a unique initiative for South Asia, which we believe will be able to significantly influence the dialogue regarding adaptation and climate change in the participants’ respective countries.
To ensure that the best people benefit from this opportunity, we will be awarding Full and Partial Scholarships to attend the Workshop.

17th International Wildlife Law Conference, which is going to be held at Bharati Vidyapeeth, Pune, from 6th – 7th January, 2017.
It is being jointly organised by Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Environment, Education and Research, University of Cologne, Germany, Stetson University College of Law, USA, and Wildlife Trust of India.
The conference will bring together experts in wildlife law from the governmental, non-governmental and academic sectors.
We are opening the conference to interested students from Indian universities, to attend, as well as to present papers.
Papers are invited on the following aspects of wildlife law and policy:
- Wildlife crime and the law: International accords and treaties
- Wildlife trade: Challenges across the borders
- National Policy and Legal Frameworks to curb wildlife trade
- Wildlife law enforcement: New approaches
- Capacity building for wildlife law enforcement
